NISMAR ALDENIS
DONA CERTIFIED BIRTH DOULA

p.HEIC

ABOUT ME

Hi, and welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.

My name is Nismar. I’m a trained birth doula based in New York City.  I’m honored to support families through one of the most sacred and life-changing transitions: birth and the early days of parenthood.

I became a doula because I believe every birthing person deserves to feel truly supported, seen, and respected. Birth is not only a physical process—it’s emotional, spiritual, and deeply personal. My intention is to help every birthing person feel grounded, informed, and  nurtured through it all.

My approach is calm, nurturing, and centered on your needs and desires. Whether you are planning to deliver at home, in a  hospital  or a birthing center, I offer steady, caring support that meets you exactly where you are. I bring gentle guidance, emotional reassurance, comfort techniques, and evidence-based information to help you feel confident and empowered throughout your journey.

As a mother and caregiver, I know how important it is to have someone by your side who truly cares. You don’t have to do this alone—I’m here to walk with you, every step of the way.

Supporting birthing people in Brooklyn, New York.

MY ROLE AS YOUR BIRTH DOULA

As your birth doula, I am here to walk alongside you with care, respect, and presence—every step of the way.

My role is to support you emotionally, physically, and informationally throughout your pregnancy, labor, and the early postpartum period. I am here to hold space for your birth experience, however it unfolds—whether it’s at home, in a hospital, or a birthing center. I do not replace your partner, doctor, or midwife—I work with them to help ensure you feel safe, heard, and empowered.

Together, we will prepare for your birth with gentle guidance, open-hearted conversations, and evidence-based information. During labor, I provide continuous support with comfort measures like massage, breath work, positioning, and grounding reassurance. My goal is to help you feel more confident, more supported, and more connected—to yourself, to your body, and to your baby.

In the postpartum period, I also offer compassionate lactation support. Whether you choose to breastfeed, chestfeed, pump, or bottle-feed, I will be there to support your feeding goals with kindness and care. I can help you with latch and positioning, milk supply concerns, and offer encouragement through the early learning curve. If needed, I can also refer you to trusted lactation professionals for additional guidance.
